Emerging Risks Group

Developing better understanding of emerging risks is the first step toward mitigating them and creating solutions to meet the challenges and opportunities they present. The Emerging Risks Group (ERG) is an internal working group of Zurich bringing together representatives from Underwriting, Claims, Risk Engineering and other disciplines as required, as well as external partners and functional experts to engage in identifying, researching, monitoring and recommending actions associated with new and evolving risks that may affect our customers and company.

The ERG develops position papers and other informational aids on an ongoing basis, raising awareness and offering an in-depth look at the categories and characteristics of risks that Zurich and its customers must plan strategies to address. Examples of risks and opportunities addressed by the ERG include nanotechnology, the aging workforce, distracted driving and pandemics.
