Christopher Barnes, Chief Claims Officer, Global Corporate

Christopher (Chris) Barnes holds the position of Chief Claims Officer for Global Corporate. In this role, he oversees the Global Corporate in Europe (GCiE) Claims team and collaborates with North America Commercial (NAC), International Businesses (IB) and EGI to deliver Claims services to Zurich’s global customer base. In his role, Chris is a member of the Global Corporate Executive Team as well as the Global Claims Management Team.

Chris was formerly Senior Vice President of Claims Field Operations for Zurich, North America, where he led the Claims offices in the US and Canada supporting Zurich's various business units writing USD 17 billion in gross written premiums.

Prior to joining Zurich, he held a variety of positions with Reliance Insurance in both claims and staff legal.  In addition, he served as the technical line of business leader for CIGNA /ACE USA as well as serving as the head of field operations and President of their TPA, ESIS Inc.  Mr. Barnes also served as Managing Director for Cambridge, a subsidiary of AON.

Chris is a graduate of Duquesne University, completed the Advanced Executive Education Program at the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business and received his JD from Rutgers School of Law.  Chris is admitted to the Bars of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and the District of Columbia.
