Investment choice introduction

Please note that the funds listed are only available for users who purchased their policy in Hong Kong.

Important information for the following insurance policies: Elite International Bond*, Elite Personal/Managed Bond*, Vista, Vista Retirement Scheme*, Supra – Savings and Investment Plan*/Education Fees* and Futura II.

  • The investment choices listed in the ‘Your guide to investment choices’ are available under insurance policies issued by Zurich International Life Limited (‘Zurich’). Your investment is subject to the credit risks of Zurich.
  • You are not investing in the underlying assets of the investment choices. You do not have any rights or ownership over these underlying investments.
  • The premiums paid by you towards the insurance policy will become part of the assets of Zurich. You do not have any rights or ownership over any of these assets. Your recourse is against Zurich only.
  • Any early termination/surrender/partial surrender of the policy or reduction in premium may result in a significant loss of principal and/or bonuses awarded. Poor performance of underlying funds/ assets may further magnify your investment losses, while all charges are still deductible.
  • Your return on investment is calculated by Zurich with reference to the fluctuation of performance of the underlying funds/assets, and is subject to the charges of the policy and may be lower than the return of the corresponding SFC-authorised funds. Each investment choice will have very different features and risk profiles. Some may be of high risk.
  • Investment involves risk, you should not purchase this product unless you understand it and it has been explained how it is suitable for you. The final decision is yours.
  • The return of some of the investment choices is calculated with reference to a portfolio internally managed by Zurich on a discretionary basis. Some portfolios are not authorised by SFC under the code on Unit Trust and Mutual Fund.
  • If you invest in the Guaranteed Accumulation Funds and withdraw any money from the fund, for example, as a switch out or surrender, other than at a permitted withdrawal point, we may apply a Market Level Adjustment (’MLA’), which may significantly reduce your investment account value or the amount you receive.  The  maximum amount reduced by a MLA can be up to 100% of the withdrawal or surrender amount from the Guaranteed Accumulation Funds.  The rate of MLA will be administered on a case by case basis and may vary depending on when the investment was made, the period of investment and the market conditions during that period. Please call our Zurich HelpPoint on +852 3405 7150 for the prevailing MLA rate.

Important information for Futura II only.

  • Please note that the following relates to the Futura II only. Part of the fees and charges you pay that will be deducted from the value of your Futura II will be used to cover the insurance charges for the life coverage and any additional coverage you may choose. The insurance charges will reduce the amount that may be applied towards investment in the investment choices selected. The insurance charges may increase significantly during the term of your Futura II due to factors such as age and investment losses, etc. This may result in significant or even total loss of your premiums paid. If the value of your Futura II becomes insufficient to cover all the ongoing fees and charges, including the insurance charges, your Futura II may be terminated early and you could lose all your premiums paid and benefits. You should consult your intermediary for details, such as how the charges may increase and could impact the value of your Futura II.
  • The investment choices available with Futura II for selection are the Euro Guaranteed Accumulation Fund, US Dollar Guaranteed Accumulation Fund and Sterling Guaranteed Accumulation Fund (collectively, the Guaranteed Accumulation Funds) and Eagle Blue Chip Fund, Euro Blue Chip Fund, Sterling Blue Chip Fund, US Dollar Blue Chip Fund and US Dollar Blue Chip – Series B (collectively, the Blue Chip Funds). These are portfolios internally managed by Zurich International Life on a discretionary basis not authorised by the SFC under the UT code.

Important information for the Magnus only:

  • Magnus is a pooled retirement funds scheme (PRF).  It is a life insurance policy issued by Zurich International Life (’Zurich’). Your investment is subject to the credit risks of Zurich.
  • Your return on investment is calculated by Zurich with reference to the fluctuation of the performance of the underlying funds/assets, and is subject to the charges of the policy and may be lower than the return of the corresponding SFC-authorised funds.
  • You should consider your own risk tolerance level and financial circumstances before making any investment choices. When, in your selection of investment choices, you are in doubt as to whether a certain investment choice is suitable for you (including whether it is consistent with your investment objectives), you should seek financial and/or professional advice and choose the investment choice(s) most suitable for you taking it to account your circumstances.
