Life insurance
A sample of the recognition that Zurich has recieved from around the world:
Zurich Life in Ireland won the 2007 Professional Insurance Brokers Association (PIBA) Broker Service Excellence Award for the fifth consecutive year. PIBA is the largest broker body in Ireland, with nearly 1,000 members, representing life and general insurance brokers.
Zurich Life in Ireland received the 2007 Irish Brokers Association (IBA) Broker Service Award for the second year in a row and the twelfth time in its history. The IBA represents over 700 insurance intermediary offices in Ireland.
Zurich Life in Ireland won a total of four MoneyMate and Investor Magazine Awards. Three awards were for Investment Management – “Best Balanced Managed Investment Fund,” “Best Balanced Managed Pension Fund,” and “Best Investment Fund Manager” (all awarded by MoneyMate); and the fourth was the “Best Insurance Provider” award by Investor Magazine.
Zurich Life in Ireland ranked first for overall service in the LIMRA Broker Attitude Study of Insurance Brokers in Ireland.
The Swiss Social Institute for disabled people recognized Zurich Switzerland for their efforts to help disabled people return to working life.
Zurich UK was named Company of the Year and won two five-star awards (for Zurich in the Life and Pensions Category and Sterling in the investment category) at the Financial Times Online service awards.
Zurich UK won the national CommunityMark award, recognizing companies that are the best investors in their communities. Zurich was one of only 13 large companies in the country to be awarded the CommunityMark.
Zurich’s UK Life team attended the sixth annual Gold Standard Awards ceremony to collect an award for their range of protection products. Winners had to demonstrate that they commanded trust, offered fair value for their products, were financially sound and delivered the highest level of service.
Zurich UK Life collected their seventh consecutive Five Star Award and received for the fourth time in a row their Five Star Award at the Financial Adviser Service Awards.
Zurich Germany received the Life Broker Award from Focus/n-tv.
Chilena Consolidada received Best Fund performance in Chile in the category of flexible investments with more than 365 days duration.
Farmers

The University of Farmers won three Excellence Awards and one Best Practice Award from Corporate Xchange for Excellence and Innovation in Corporate Leading.
The University of Farmers also received the BEST Award from American Society for Training and Development for being in top 20 of country’s 40 BEST companies in employee training and development.
Annette Thompson of University of Farmers received the Gold Leadership Award from Chief Learning Officer magazine for excellence in enterprise learning.
General Insurance

At the Welsh contact centre awards, our UK General business wins the best retention practice award for the way in which we engage and develop employees who work at the Cardiff contact centre.
Readers of Reactions magazine, a leading monthly periodical for the global insurance and reinsurance industries, vote Zurich the top US primary insurer for 2007.
Zurich is voted European Insurer of the Year by risk managers across Europe. The award is sponsored by Strategic Risk, a publication that covers key risk issues for the global business community. It comes on the heels of a Euromoney customer poll, in which Zurich is ranked second among global insurers and takes first place for both workers’ compensation and claims resolution in the regional votes for the US and Europe.
Texas Independent Agents rate Zurich in North America in top three for 2008 CAT claims response.
Emerging Markets Solutions group in North America has been voted "Best Private Insurer" for 2008 by the readers of Trade Finance magazine.
