Digital Art
Financial information and real-time weather are used by artist John Klima to create a unique work of art. Commissioned by Zurich Global Assets (ZGA) the 3-D simulation uses real-time weather and financial information to manipulate the movements of various "natural" objects, including birds and trees. "Ecosytem", as the piece is entitled, was featured in the Whitney Museum's digital art exhibit, along with other works including "CPU" by artist John Simon, Jr., which was also acquired by ZGA. Two of these digital artworks also reflect the constantly changing and evolving financial environment in which the Zurich Financial Services Group operates. Both works are now on display in the New York offices.
Encouraging Local and International Art
Zurich North America in Schaumburg, Illinois maintains a partnership with the Northwest Cultural Council, which exhibits original works by local artists at nine Corporate Gallery spaces in the Northwest Corridor. One of these is the Zurich Corporate Gallery, housed in the Zurich Towers, which displays the works of local artists and artisans on a rotating schedule. Zurich North America also supports the Council through corporate art purchases, newsletter design and art fairs.
