Aliye Fiebig
Managing Consultant
What is your background?
- I was born and went to school in Uzbekistan, which, at that time, was still part of Soviet Union. After finishing school I moved to Ukraine, where I got my first degree in Finance. Several years later, I obtained the honours degree of Master in Banking and International Finance from Cass Business School, London.
- In 2002 I started advising banks and microfinance institutions in South Eastern Europe on how to improve lending and risk management.
- In January 2007, I joined Zurich as one of the first hires for the Internal Consulting team. I am very proud that, jointly with my colleagues, we've managed to build a great team of professionals, who help Zurich reach its strategic and operational objectives at multiple levels and across business divisions.
- Over the last three years I've been part of various exciting Group efforts, including the integration of NASTA in Russia.
- My big hobby and my big occupation is my little son, who has energy to spare. I also swim and ride horses (Switzerland is a real paradise for it!).
Why Zurich?
I thought I would continue working in the banking industry. However, Zurich presented a transformational challenge that I clearly wanted to be part of. I also looked forward to working with such an international crowd.
Why have you stayed with Zurich?
I truly enjoy the work I do and the benefits it brings to the company.
If I were interviewing you …
I'd look for a strong personality, original thought with practical application, a good sense of humor (it always helps!). I'd also look for excitement about what you do and how you do it.
