Lydia C. Skoglind
VP, Information Technology, Sourcing and Program Management, North America Commercial
What is your background?
- I'm a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, USA with a degree in Insurance and professional designations as a Certified Insurance Counselor and Certified Risk Manager.
- My 29-year career started at an insurance agency before moving to Eagle Star Insurance Company as a Commercial Underwriter. In 1987, I joined Maryland Casualty, which was acquired by Zurich in 1989, and spent three years as a Senior Production Underwriter in Commercial Lines before moving to Corporate Operations.
- I progressed from Corporate Operations to Program Management and now work in IT. I manage strategic sourcing, the Project Management Office, Operational Reporting and Organizational Change Management for North America Commercial IT.
- I participate in Junior Achievement, an organisation supported by Zurich where employees teach in local schools the principles and basics about business. Conducting classroom teaching, the students learn about business practices and are provided with positive role models.
