Zurich Group: license for non-life insurance business in Poland

Zurich, February 2, 1998. - Zurich Handlowy Insurance, a jointly established non-life insurance company formed by the Zurich Group and the Polish bank, Bank Handlowy, has received permission to conduct non-life business from the respective authorities.

Together with Bank Handlowy, Zurich maintains two subsidiaries in Poland. As previously announced, Zurich Handlowy Life SA received permission to conduct life insurance business in January 1998. With the subsequent granting of a license to Zurich Handlowy Insurance SA, Zurich’s operations in Poland include both life and non-life business.
