Zurich Financial Services: Appointment in Group Communications
Zurich, July 30, 2001.- Zurich Financial Services has appointed Max W. Gurtner as Head of Media Relations. He will join the Zurich in summer and will also assume the role of media spokesperson for the Group, effective November 1, 2001. Max W. Gurtner takes over his functions from Iris Roth, who will leave the company by the end of the year, moving back into the consulting business.
Max W. Gurtner (1951) has a Masters degree in Economics and Sociology from the University of St. Gallen. He embarked on a career in Communications and Public Relations at The Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute, the think tank of Migros, Switzerland's largest retailer. Gurtner spend 14 years at Roche, where he held positions as Head of Media Relations, Head of Corporate Communications and Head of Investor Relations. Most recently he was Head of Corporate Communications and a member of Group Management Board for ISMM group and its operating company, ISL Worldwide.
