Sale of health insurance businesses in Germany to DKV completed

Zurich, June 15, 2004 – Zurich Financial Services Group (Zurich) announced today that it has completed the sale of Zürich Krankenversicherung AG (Deutschland) as well as the 45% stake which Zurich’s subsidiary Deutscher Herold AG holds in GLOBALE Krankenversicherungs-AG (GLOBALE) to the Deutsche Krankenversicherung AG (DKV). This transaction was first announced on March 31, 2004. Both parties agreed to keep the price confidential. 

The distribution agreement which is part of the transaction will allow Zurich Group Germany to take advantage of the size and competences of DKV to offer their clients a broader range of health insurance products and services.
