Appointment of Brandon S. Mathews

Zurich, July 2, 2007 – Zurich Financial Services Group (Zurich) announces the appointment of Brandon S. Mathews (37, American) to the position of Head of Microinsurance effective June 1, 2007. In this newly created position, Brandon is responsible for implementing the Group-wide initiative to identify and refine microinsurance best practices and to export those solutions around the world. He reports to Patrick O'Sullivan, Zurich's Chief Growth Officer, John Amore, CEO General Insurance, and Peter Buomberger, Group Head of Government and Industry Affairs, and will be located in Zurich, Switzerland.

Brandon joins Zurich from American International Group where most recently he was responsible for extended warranty products in Latin America and before that for the delivery and servicing of those products in markets outside North America. Prior to that, he worked with General Motors Europe based in Germany. Brandon holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Rochester and a master's degree from New York University.
