Hanno Mijer appointed Head of Business Development, Global Life

Zurich, August 31, 2007 – Zurich Financial Services Group (Zurich) announces the appointment of Hanno Mijer (45, Dutch citizen) to the position of Head of Business Development, Global Life, effective September 1, 2007. In this newly created position, Hanno will support Global Life's growth strategy by focusing on new and existing strategic alliances, possible mergers and acquisitions, new partnerships and cross-border opportunities. He will report to Paul van de Geijn, Chief Executive Officer, Global Life Insurance, and will be located in Zurich, Switzerland.

Hanno joins Zurich from consulting firm Watson Wyatt in the UK where he worked for seven years and was a member of the global management team of its Insurance & Financial Services unit. He was responsible for business development and Watson Wyatt's relationships with all major multinational insurance clients. Prior to that, he worked twelve years with Aegon in the Netherlands, in Eastern Europe and in Asia and held a variety of management and executive positions. Hanno holds an actuarial science degree from the University of Amsterdam and participated in executive development programs at INSEAD and IMD.
