Philip Wilson appointed as Chief Underwriting Officer for Global Life

Zurich, October 6, 2008 – Zurich Financial Services Group (Zurich) announces the appointment of Philip Wilson (56, citizen of Australia) to the position of Chief Underwriting Officer for Global Life, effective October 6, 2008. In this newly created role, Mr. Wilson will be responsible for the Global Life underwriting strategy, standards and processes for Life and Health globally. He will report to Mario Greco, CEO Global Life.

Mr. Wilson joins Zurich from AIG, where he worked for the last six years in New York and Hong Kong. Most recently he held the position Chief Underwriting Officer, Accident & Health for AIU based in New York. Prior to AIG, Mr. Wilson held a number of executive roles including National Manager of Risk Protection for AMP Australia and General Manager of Underwriting and Systems for AVIVA with responsibility for IT, Marketing, Finance and Underwriting. Also, he spent three years running his own consultancy business specializing in business process re-engineering with clients from the insurance industry. Mr. Wilson holds a MBA in Business Administration from Deakin University in Australia.
