Appointment of Claudia Dill as CEO for the North America Shared Services Platform (ZFUS)

Zurich, July 16, 2009 – Zurich Financial Services Group (Zurich) announces the appointment of Claudia Dill (43, Swiss), currently Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Europe General Insurance, to the position of CEO for the North America Shared Services Platform (ZFUS), effective September 1, 2009. In her new role, Ms. Dill will continue to drive further improvements in Zurich’s North America shared services platform. She will report to Paul N. Hopkins, CEO of the Americas, and will be located in New York City. Ms. Dill succeeds Keitha Schofield, who will become the Chief Integration Officer for Zurich’s recent acquisition of AIG's Personal Lines Auto business in the US.

Ms. Dill joined Zurich in 1999 and held various Group positions such as CFO of Group Reinsurance before becoming CFO Europe in 2003. In 2007 she was appointed to her current role as COO for Europe General Insurance. She completed her studies in business administration, with a focus on audit and trust, at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, in 1990. In addition, she holds an MBA in Corporate Finance from the universities of Rochester and Berne.
