Zurich announces the successful placement of EUR 500 million senior debt

Zurich, June 20, 2012 – Zurich Insurance Group (Zurich) today announced the successful placement of EUR 500 million 10-year senior notes, maturing in 2022 to investors in the Euromarket.

The securities will be issued by Zurich Insurance Company Ltd under its “Euro Medium Term Note Programme” to a repackaging vehicle, Willow No. 2 (Ireland) Plc, that in turn issues notes, secured by the debt securities issued by Zurich Insurance Company Ltd. The coupon has been set at 3.375%.

The transaction has been conducted for general corporate purposes and to refinance maturing debt.
