Green Card
A Green Card is free of charge and it is a certificate that proof you have a valid third party liability. The insurance is valid within the Green Card system that is managed by “International Association of National Motor Insurers' Bureaux”. It means that you can drive your vehicle cross boarders without any particular certificate, but in some countries you need the Green Card. For those countries, you also need the trailer or campers registration number on the Green Card, if you bring some.
In these countries, you need a Green Card
- Albania
- Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Islamic republic of Iran
- Israel
- Macedonia
- Morocco
- Moldova
- Serbia
- Tunisia
- Turkey
In these countries, you don’t need a Green Card, but we do recommend that you bring one anyway

International driving license
Some countries demand that you bring an International driving license; otherwise, you are not allowed to drive your vehicle or hire a vehicle. An International driving license is valid together with your ordinary driving license. To find out how you can order an International driving licence, please visit your national transport agency website.
Reflective vest and warning triangle
In many European countries, you need to have at least one reflective vest in you vehicle. You must have your vest available and wear it if you need to leave the vehicle on a public road.
The warning triangle is something that is natural for every vehicle both by law and by common sense, but if you get pulled over and do not have the triangle you can end up with expensive penalties.
Theft and robbery
Thieves are everywhere. A thief might assume that your vehicle is full with valuables, such as cameras, DVD players and clothes, especially when you are abroad. Here are some tips in order to avoid theft:
- Don’t let valuable things be visual in the vehicle
- Lock and alarm the vehicle at all time
- Empty the vehicle, specially at night
- Use extra locker like, steering wheel lock
- Avoid parking in desolated streets
Mobile phone
In most of the European countries, you are forbidden to talk in the mobile phone when driving, and in some countries, you can use a hands free. To avoid penalties make sure you are familiar with the restrictions in each country.
