Switzerland loves hockey. We support it.

We are proud to be the official sponsor of the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation and to give our support to nine Swiss national teams at various levels – from the U14 juniors to the elite men's team and women’s team: bronze medal winners at the Winter Olympics in Sochi. Ice hockey is an integral part of Swiss culture and represents passion, team spirit and perfection.

Swiss ice hockey fans have one more thing to look forward to: after an absence of almost forty years, the Swiss league cup competition returns in the 2014/2015 season with support from Zurich.

The Spengler Cup is the oldest international ice hockey tournament and the second-largest sporting event in Switzerland, after the Swiss Indoors in Basel. Teams from around the world compete during the five days between Christmas and New Year for this coveted trophy steeped in tradition. Davos plays host, and more than 80,000 fans travel there each year to join in the excitement. Zurich supports this history-rich event as a partner.

Without ice hockey referees, the over 10,000 games a year in Swiss ice hockey could never take place. Zurich appreciates their dedication and serves as sponsor to the 1,000 official referees in all games in the National Leagues A and B, in the Regio League and the Swiss national team's home games.

The children are the stars of the Swiss Ice Hockey Day: Some 100 ice rinks throughout Switzerland give children the opportunity to hitt some pucks for the first time or to build on their hockey skills by learning some tricks of the trade from professional players. Zurich is the main partner of the Swiss Ice Hockey Day. Attendance is free and there is no registration required.
