01 Liability program for an international company

CUSTOMER CHALLENGE

The customer, a major international company with a broad and very diverse product and services portfolio, was having issues with general liability exposures and controls.

OUR SOLUTION

In cooperation with the customer, we defined a program of site risk assessments at locations all over the world. The purpose of the work was to assist the customer with reviewing the potential general liability risk exposures and controls on site against the operational and major risk issues identified by the customer in advance of the visits.

02 Cyber security action plan for a large company

CUSTOMER CHALLENGE

With an increased exposure to cyber attacks and a high public profile, the customer knows its response to a cyber attack will be played out in public.

OUR SOLUTION

Despite having a well-established incident management plan, the customer wanted to test it against an emerging threat that could also damage their reputation. We worked with the customer to understand their IT landscape and how a cyber incident could impact business-critical systems. Using this insight we developed a scenario to test the readiness of the organization and its ability to respond effectively. Incident Teams had to respond in real time to the scenario as it unfolded, including calling on vendors to obtain additional support and identifying the whereabouts of IT assets. Each department’s ability to keep the business running without IT was stress tested and challenged, as was the team’s ability to manage the media, and keep influential and demanding customers happy.

03 Supply chain security program for a large company

CUSTOMER CHALLENGE

A large fast-moving goods company struggled with cargo theft. The thefts resulted in loss of sales and market share. The stolen goods were mixed with counterfeit goods and sold on the black, grey and legitimate markets, thus damaging the brand.

OUR SOLUTION

Zurich reviewed the physical flow of cargo to reduce idle time in transport. A sub-contractor management program was rolled out inclusive of transportation requirements. Total supply chain approach training and implementation was undertaken.

04 Property program for company in Central America

CUSTOMER CHALLENGE

The customer, a major food producing company, was having fire protection issues at its facilities.

OUR SOLUTION

We carried out a program of 30 property damage and business interruption assessments with a detailed focus on fire protection systems and related testing. This resulted in the proactive management of risk improvement actions and the implementation of sprinkler systems at some locations. In addition, we used My Zurich to enable direct dialogue between our Risk Engineers and local plant managers.

05 International fleet program for company in Europe

CUSTOMER CHALLENGE

The customer’s 40,000 vehicle fleet was experiencing escalating claims frequency and average claims costs.

OUR SOLUTION

We held an initial fleet safety workshop with key stakeholders to understand the issue and carried out motor fleet inspections using a consistent risk grading methodology. To help create a crash-free culture, we developed a tailored motor fleet risk management program looking at management processes, driver safety, policies and driver risk assessments. We also provided a dedicated ‘go to’ resource for advice and guidance.

Fleet claims reduced from 34% to 15%.

06 Construction program for a company in North America

CUSTOMER CHALLENGE

A large US-based construction company had safety management issues and growing injury claims incidents.

OUR SOLUTION

We applied our cultural gap analysis tool Zurich X-Ray and carried out a series of pre-and post-loss workshops to understand the root cause of the claims. We then developed an integrated risk improvement plan from the top level down.
