Globally, Zurich buys many products and services for our business. Ranging from IT and business process services, to office furniture and stationery. We are aiming to do good with our procurement actions by embedding our purpose and values into our supply chain.
We have launched a new global Sustainable Sourcing Vision that provides a framework and a set of principles to ensure sustainability is an important factor in all our sourcing and procurement decisions.
The Sustainable Sourcing Vision covers three areas:
- Social: Working with our supplier community to generate and maximise positive social impact
- Environmental: Minimizing the environmental footprint of the goods and services we source.
- Ethical: Ensuring the highest ethical and professional standards in our supply chain as set out in Zurich’s Code of Conduct.
“The Sustainable Sourcing Vision provides minimum standards, tools and support to ensure sustainability is considered at every stage: from due diligence and supplier evaluation, to the ongoing management and governance of supplier relationships,” explains Thomas Sebastian, Zurich’s Global Head of Sourcing & Procurement.
“It allows us to achieve both commercial and social objectives simultaneously. We’re now actively looking for opportunities to work with organizations that are helping to make the world a better place,” adds Sebastian.
