Zurich to provide resilience services to WBN, the Worldwide Broker Network
Zurich Resilience Solutions, the commercial risk advisory and services unit of Zurich Insurance Group (Zurich), will become the preferred supplier of resilience and sustainability services to the largest independent broker network in the world.
Zurich will provide the services to the Worldwide Broker Network (WBN), with more than 100 broker members in over 100 countries, effective from January 1, 2023.
The Zurich Resilience Solutions offering will be available for all WBN members, initially focusing on addressing risks related to climate change and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) – both top concerns for business leaders that require specialized knowledge and customizable solutions.
“As insurance capacity for certain risks becomes scarce, companies are increasingly turning to us for risk prevention and mitigation services that enable them to manage evolving risks more effectively,” said Hanno Mijer, Global Head of Zurich Resilience Solutions. “Collaborating with WBN will significantly expand our reach and help us strengthen awareness of the importance of building resilience to emerging risks.”
Olga Collins, Chief Executive Officer at WBN, added: “Zurich Resilience Solutions’ offering is unique in the marketplace, and we are delighted to be able to make their services available to our broker community. Resilience is critical in the current market environment and cannot be achieved through traditional risk transfer. Working with Zurich and leveraging their global capabilities will enable our members to better support our customers on these important issues.”
Because of climate change, natural disasters such as storms, floods, droughts and wildfires are becoming more frequent and severe, affecting all businesses and communities globally. To build climate resilience, businesses need to invest in adaptation now. Climate Resilience at Zurich Resilience Solutions can help companies to better prepare for current and future physical risks associated with climate change and significantly reduce operational downtime after an event.
Insufficient attention to diversity and inclusion is increasingly becoming a business risk impacting organizations’ financial performance and its workforce. Demand from businesses for guidance on improving DEI practices and policies is increasing. Zurich supports businesses to strategically assess DEI in their organization and work toward recognized standards and their individual goals.
Zurich Resilience Solutions, with its more than 800 risk experts and extensive sector expertise, offers services that combine risk advisory and insights with the latest technology and tools, to help customer build greater business resilience.
