Zurich bolsters its commitment to people with disabilities
Zurich Insurance Group (Zurich) will join some of the world’s largest companies to further enhance its support to people with disabilities. As part of The Valuable 500 – a global initiative that puts disability inclusion firmly on the agenda of firms around the world – Zurich again illustrates its commitment to diversity and inclusion.
“Our workforce should reflect the communities in which we operate and which we serve, and this means welcoming diversity of all kinds,” said Mario Greco, Group Chief Executive Officer. “Joining The Valuable 500 will ensure that inclusion of all employees is on the agenda of senior leadership.”
As part of the commitment, Zurich will set up a global Employee Resource Group (ERG) for wellbeing. This network will contain local chapters in national entities, integrating the already established ERGs across a diverse range of topics, representing employee voices at group level. The key focus will be on removing barriers, stigmas and taboos, and to foster an environment where people with all abilities or wellbeing challenges feel they can succeed. More specifically, the aim is to foster a company culture that attracts and retains diverse talent, create awareness of disability-inclusive communication, and recognize key dates like International Day of People with Disabilities.
