VIDEO SURVEILLANCE PRIVACY NOTICE
This notice explains how Zurich Insurance Company Ltd uses a surveillance system (CCTV).
1. Purpose of CCTV use
We operate CCTV for the following reasons:
- To ensure the safety and security of our employees, contractors, visitors, and property.
- To prevent, detect and investigate crime or misconduct.
- To support health and safety.
- To comply with applicable legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
- To measure the use and occupancy of the buildings.
2. What data is collected
CCTV systems record video footage and similar media (‘CCTV recordings’) of visitors.
3. Recipients of the CCTV recordings
Access to CCTV recordings is strictly limited to:
- Authorized Zurich employees with a security or facilities management role.
- Approved external security service providers acting on our behalf.
- Relevant legal or regulatory authorities when required.
All parties with access are bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations.
4. Retention Period
CCTV recordings are retained no longer than necessary. Typically, footage is kept for up to 30 days, unless a longer retention period is required due to an incident or legal requirements.
