To support its technology strategy and strengthen leadership in digital skills, Zurich Switzerland launched Fit for Future Leadership – a program designed for or all employees to build awareness, future skills, and a passion for lifelong learning. The program encompasses practical learning, co-creation, and taking responsibility to find solutions. It includes peer coaching, hackathons and promptathons, which are intense challenges where participants must generate their own AI-driven solutions.
As part of the program, about 100 Zurich Switzerland employees participated in the 2025 Hackathon. Using AI and creative problem-solving, 21 teams of Zurich Switzerland employees took on 12 real business challenges. Based on the results of one of the challenges, Zurich Switzerland changed its approach to car damage claims, using AI to support decision-making to prioritize repairs, instead of replacing parts.
